Geotextiles and Geogrids
Sitework, Erosion & Seeding Supply Company is your local source for Non-Woven, Woven, High Strength, Biaxial and Uniaxial Geo products
Non-Woven Geotextile fabrics are commonly known as filter fabrics. They typically resemble felt and provide planar water flow. The are classified in weight categories. The most commonly utilized geotextiles are 3.5 oz, 6 oz & 8 oz although we can supply up to 16 oz. These fabrics are used in a variety of applications including behind retaining walls, under landscape features, asphalt overlays, drainage and weed barriers.
Woven Geotextile fabrics geotextiles have superior capacity for filtration and load distribution, reducing rutting and extending the life of paved and unpaved roadways. Made from individually woven, ultraviolet (UV)-resistant polypropylene yarns, and manufactured with high tensile strength and low elongations, woven geotextiles provide dimensional stability and resistance to the biological and chemical environments normally found in soils.
Biaxial Geogrids are designed to have the same tensile strength in both directions. They are designed to distribute dynamic loads over a wider area, pumping and shear failures are minimized, resulting in increased load bearing capacity of the subgrade . In paved or unpaved applications, they minimize rutting while maintaining the desired aggregate depth.
Uniaxial geo grids have their strength in one direction only. Typically the strength is in the roll direction. These geogrids are mostly used in retaining wall applications. They can be used in other applications where a product is needed that only has strength in one direction.
